Queensland Cotton provides employees a safe, supportive, industrial working environment. We currently seek expressions of interest from reliable, hard-working individuals to work at our Emerald Cotton Gin (processing facility) during the cotton ginning season. The Emerald gin runs two seasons- the first is likely to commence in March and is anticipated to run for 6 weeks. The next season commences in early July and runs through until early September/October depending on weather conditions and operational requirements. Successful applicants must be flexible with availability. These operations likely run a 24 hour a day. Shifts will be 7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am. You will work six days on, Monday, Saturday, or Sunday off. However, as this is subject to change you need to be flexible and capable of working up to 10 consecutive 12 hour shifts. Pay is in accordance with the Award where penalty rates and shift work premiums apply. Positions available include: Bag/Press Operators, Plant Cleaners, Grablift/Moonbuggy Operators, Forklift and Truck Drivers. Heavy vehicle/fork lift licence and machinery/mobile equipment operation experience will be highly regarded and essential for some roles. A full site induction and training is provided. Queensland Cotton operates 10 cotton processing gins throughout Central QLD, Darling Downs, South West QLD and Regional NSW. Separate applications are required for each location. You must have the right to work in Australia without restriction and be confident of passing the company's pre-employment medical and drug screen.
