Do I need experience?
You don’t necessarily need experience to become a seasonal worker at Queensland Cotton. Some roles require special tickets whereas others do not require specific skills and are suitable for people from all backgrounds.
What you do need is to be flexible with your availability, reliably turn up and be willing to put in a hard day of work. The Collymongle Cotton Gin is likely to run one 12hr shift, 12 days on, two days off roster with shifts from 7pm-7am and 7am-7pm. There is the potential that you will need to work up to 12 consecutive 12 hour shifts, but the earning potential in these rosters definitely makes it worthwhile!
You must also have the right to work in Australia and be confident of passing the company's pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen. The safety of all our workers is paramount so you may also be asked to complete a Safety Assessment prior to joining the team.
